Arts Fest Beverly on Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 10am-4pm is a free outdoor festival in downtown Beverly that’s fun for the whole family! Arts Fest is held outside, rain or shine.
Over 150+ juried fine artists and crafters, music and entertainment, kids’ activities, art-on-the-spot creations, artist demonstrations and outdoor food court with food trucks! The event is free and open to the public.
Artists will be selling bags, candles, ceramics, pottery, children’s items, clothing, furniture, glass, home decor, housewares, jewelry, paintings, pet gear, photographs, prints, sculpture, soap, vintage items and more. Artists come from all over New England and right here in Beverly, including some of your favorite artists from last year, and new and emerging artists. This is our 17th year.
The Arts Fest 2019 featured artist is Brian Murphy; chosen to receive this award based on his impact and support to the Beverly Creative Economy. Brian Murphy is a multi-disciplinary artist whose creative output includes sculpture, mixed media, furniture and painting. A graduate of RISD, he has worked in the advertising and commercial art world for over 33 years, earning design awards along the way. Brian’s tent will be in a prominent spot at the festival, so be sure to stop by.
Arts Fest is highlighting sculpture again this year. BEVsculpts will unveil a new piece of sculpture that is made up of approximately 100 individual works created by residents of Beverly. The sculpture form consists of the capital letters “B” “E” “V”. Each letter will be approximately 5 ft. tall x 1 ft. deep x 3.3 ft. wide. It is designed with recessed sections to incorporate the sculptures. This sculpture one of the outcomes of the partnership with Beverly Main Streets | Beverly Arts District and local organizations that have teamed up with the New England Sculptors Association (NESA). This year BEVsculpts has hosted a series of sculpture projects, workshops, lectures and a community sculpture build to show the diversity of and give recognition to sculpture as a public art form. Partners include Historic Beverly, Beverly Public Library, Beverly Public Schools, Beverly’s Council on Aging, Montserrat College of Art and Endicott College. In addition to the sculpture unveiling, NESA sculptors will also have a booth at Arts Fest.
In 2018, Arts Fest Beverly received North Shore Magazine’s “Best of the North Shore Reader’s Choice Award” for the “Art Festival” category.
